The Union Cafe is a place where friends meet, grab a cup o' joe and buy socially conscious products from all over the world. The cafe seeks to bring the best products to consumers, including North Central College's "Conscious Bean" coffee. 

 "Concious Bean" is a project providing fair wages to  Guatemalen coffee growers, some of whom  were devasted by flooding in the fall of  2010. The college's Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) organization has developed and managed this program and has partnered with The Union to sell this excellent coffee. 

Additionally, the Cafe gives a portion of its profit toward NCC's partnership with the community development organization, KISCODEP. A microfinance organization in the Kibera slum of Nairobi, Kenya, KISCDEP seeks to improve the lives of its members by providing small business loans. NCC has partnered with KISCODEP for the past 6 years, sending students to study their methods, share their story, and contribute to their mission.
